Marketplace safety

Play safe out there.

PuckList is a platform that connects buyers and sellers of used hockey equipment — we are not a party to your transaction. Please exercise caution when meeting, inspecting, and paying for gear.

Before you trade

Meet in public

Exchange in a busy, well-lit place — a rink lobby or community centre beats a private address.

Inspect before you pay

Check the gear in person. Verify size, condition, and cert stickers before money changes hands.

Keep payment traceable

Avoid wire transfers, gift cards, or crypto to strangers. Use trackable payment methods.

Watch for 'too good'

A $400 stick listed for $40 by a pushy seller is a red flag. Pause and report if something feels off.

Tools you have

Report a listing or user

Every listing and seller profile has a Report option. Flag fraud, counterfeit, prohibited items, or harassment.

Block a user

Block anyone from their seller profile. Blocked users can't message you, and you can't message them.

Admin moderation

Our team reviews reports, suspends bad actors, and removes listings that violate policy.

Not allowed on PuckList

Prohibited listings

  • •Counterfeit or fake equipment passed off as authentic
  • •Stolen gear
  • •Items modified to bypass safety certification
  • •Weapons, drugs, or anything illegal under Canadian law
  • •Requests for upfront payment, deposits via untraceable methods, or gift cards

See a listing that breaks these rules? Report it from the listing page and our moderation team will review.

Suspended accounts

Accounts that violate policy are suspended by our admin team. Suspended users can't post listings or send messages, and a suspension badge shows on their profile so you know to steer clear.

Your privacy

PuckList never shares your email, phone, or address. Seller profiles show only your display name, city, and province. Keep personal details out of listing descriptions and messages until you trust the other party.
